Projects
Although due to confidentiality issues I cannot mention all of the projects I am currently working on, this page describes some of the past and present projects I have enjoyed working on in the last couple of years.
Past Projects
Content Management System for the FDTC Project
I am (slowly) working on the grade and document storage system for the Futuros Dirigentes Técnico-Científicos de El Salvador program. It is implemented as a web application written in PHP that extensively uses AJAX and client-side XSLT technologies. The system runs on a Linux server and currently supports only browsers that strive to adhere to web standars. No IE support is planned for the application.
Vision-based Control of an Autonomous Wheelchair
The vision-based control system for the ATRS was my main research project during my graduate studies and was the basis for my M.S. thesis. High-level information, including papers and videos, may be found here.

VaderLib (luImaging v2)
Matt Casey and I worked on a small imaging library written in C++ and x86 assembler (with SSE2 extensions) that was used in some of the VADER Lab’s research projects.
Linux on a USB flash drive
This project started as the first assignment for my independent study on systems administration during the Fall 2004 semester. It is essentially a Knoppix distribution distilled to 64 MB and modified to boot from a USB ke Additionally, some scripts were written to provide an encrypted data zone. It never reached a stable, production-ready state and, therefore, is limited to my private use. Note that although linux distributions on USB flash drives are now ubiquitous, they were not available at the time this project was being developed.
